Where it all started.

In late April 2024, the founding crew of what was then Hunger Fighters — and would become H3x — took to the streets of Chicago for the first major event of the organization. The team behind it: @Mauii_HBM, @Kurokojin, @jmjustinmyers, @hydroyeti, @YarnWorld_, and a growing circle of volunteers and supporters who showed up because help shouldn't wait.

It was direct, hands-on, and unceremonious in the best way. No press releases. No partner logos crowding a stage. Just food, people, and the time it takes to hand a meal to someone who needs one.

The Numbers

• Over 125 people fed through direct street-level distribution.
• A family of six received additional support — supplies purchased after the main event using H3x funds.
• A follow-up Twitter Space recap on April 30, 2024 brought the community together to debrief.

Why Chicago Mattered

This event set the tone for everything that followed. It proved a small, motivated group of Web3 folks could show up in person and make tangible change happen — without a single committee meeting, without a single grant application, without waiting for anyone's permission.

Chicago was the proof of concept. Everything since — Seattle, Dallas, Boston, India — has been built on the foundation laid that April afternoon.
